"Ah damn, why
didn't that biker looked where he was riding?" I asked Anna.
"I don't know, maybe he forgot his glasses and didn't see your big head", she
joked. "Yeah I bet that's it", I laughed though I still was sleepy from the
surgery.
Anna and I were friends for like forever. Anna has light brown hair and it hangs on her
shoulders and she had beautiful greenish blue eyes and she was about 5'7" tall. I
have long brown hair and very dark brown eyes, everyone said my eyes had something
mysterious but they just looked normal to me. I'm a little taller than Anna, I'm about
5'8". Anna is 20 and I'm 19. Anna and I are Backstreet Boys fans ever since the
beginning, Anna was one of Brians biggest fans and my fave is Nick but I just like his
voice ! Yeah well he looks great too but a great look doesn't always mean a great
personality, though I think Nick has a great character.
The day we wanted to go to a Backstreet Boys concert, together with Theresa one of my
penpals, a biker drove right into me and I broke my left hand cause of him and it looked
really badly. The doctor said I should have immediate surgery or I couldn't use my hand
anymore like I'm used to, so I missed the concert !!! Grrrr damn again.
"So how was the concert I missed?" I asked Anna. "It was DA BOMB"she
almost shouted and was sorry immediately cause she was so excited about it while I missed
it.
"You don't have to be sorry, Anna, it's not your fault ! By the way I'll get enough
chances to see them sometime else, well I hope so" I said with a fake smile.
"You know they looked so hot, I almost melted away by seeing them"she continued,
"Awww and Brian he looked so fine…oh my gosh he just was the best one out
there"
"And Nick", I asked "He looked ok to me but to you he would have looked
gorgeous and so great!"
"Yeah" I nodded "but I wasn't there".
Anna continued her story about the concert while a nurse came in. "Excuse me, miss,
but we have a little problem. You see, we have a young man here who needs a room but all
rooms are filled out and they only place left is here. Would it be ok if he would stay
here", the nurse asked.
"Sure, no problem", I replied "bring him in, maybe he's cute", I joked
to Anna and she and the nurse started to laugh. "Well don't be surprised when he
comes in, he will be here in about one hour, he's still in surgery and um he's kinda
special", the nurse said while she was leaving the room.
"Special???", I said. "Yeah", Anna said, "who can be more special
then you Patricia", she joked and we started to laugh.
"Well, I gotta go" Anna said , "I still have to do some work, see ya
tomorrow ok?"
"Ok", I said "And good luck with your special roommate", she shouted
while she left the room.
About five minutes later my mom came in with Theresa, my penpal ! Theresa flew over from
California to Florida to see the last concert of the Backstreet Boys with me and Anna.
Theresa had brown hair and eyes, and she had a great natural tan skin, I envied her for
that. And she was about 5'4", a little shorter than me and she was 19. She liked Aj a
lot, she liked hard but sweet guys, like Aj, she always says.
"Hi mom, hi Theresa, what's up??" I smiled. "We're ok", my mom said
"And Theresa is still enjoying the concert, even though it's over. "Yeah
well" Theresa laughed "the concert was just the greatest of all".
"How are you", my mom asked with a serious look on her face. "I'm fine,
mom, just still a little sleepy from the surgery", I yawned.
"Well, we'll go and visit you tomorrow again, ok sweetie", my mom asked.
"Ok, mom, see ya tomorrow and bring some chocolate for me, please" I said and
they left. I really was getting sleepy and I decided to listen to some music! I took my CD
player and I listened to Millennium and I fell asleep, not even noticing my special
roommate was coming in.
When
Nick came into the room he saw he had a girl as roommate. She was sleeping and she looked
very beautiful. He liked her long brown hair and he was kinda amused looking at her while
she was sleeping. She looked cute and he wondered if she was as nice as she was cute. He
saw she was listening to music and cause it was so silent in the room he heard she was
listening to The One, one of his fave songs of their last album.
While he still was staring at her the others came into the room. "Hey Nick, is
everything ok" Brian whispered. "Yeah, I'm fine", Nick whispered back.
"Hey your eyes are gonna fall out if you keep staring at her", Howie joked.
"By the way who is she?".
"I don't know" Nick answered "But she's a fan of us, a cute one in
fact".
"How do you know she's a fan", Howie asked curious. "She's listening to
Millennium", Nick smiled.
"Well I hope she isn't one of those crazy fans chases you when you meet them, or
maybe she'll jump on you when she sees you lying here" Brian laughed.
I heard somebody laughing when I woke up. I opened my eyes and I saw the Backstreet Boys
standing there and one lying down in the bed besides me.
"Ah man I must be really mad not going to the concert, I'm already dreaming the
Backstreet Boys are in my hospital room", I yawned and heard that laughing again.
I looked up and they still were there. "I'm not dreaming" I asked and I felt the
red rising in my face.
"No you aren't", Brian said with a huge smile on his face.
"Oh my gosh", I nodded "I meet BsB and I look like a mess. First I miss the
concert cause of the surgery and now BsB are standing here in my room, in the hospital,
the last place where you want to meet people.
They all looked amused of my overreact talking and they tried all really hard not to laugh
and when I saw their faces I just burst out in a loud laughing and they just laughed
along. When we all were laughed out I said "Sorry, I'm Patricia and it's really nice
meeting you, even if the circumstances aren't the one I dreamed of"
"Thanks it's nice meeting you too and you don't look nice and not like a mess."
The others stared at each other cause Nick said that to me, but I didn't care about the
meaning of that I just was in heaven number seven, cause it was Nick Carter saying that to
me and that doesn't happen every day.
"So Nick, if I can call you that way, what are you here for?" I asked.
"Sure you can call me Nick, and I'm here cause I fell of the stairs this afternoon
and I needed a surgery on this finger here cause I broke it", he said. "Well ,
he is and will always be mister chaos" Aj laughed.
"Yeah lol, I'm here cause I broke my hand and also had a surgery on it. A biker drove
right into me and that is also the reason why I missed your concert. My friends Anna and
Theresa said it was really good.", I said.
"Well I hope it was, cause we are happy when our fans are satisfied. Too bad you
broke your hand and missed it", Kevin said.
"Yeah well, if I didn't brake my hand I wouldn't have met you here" I smiled.
"Yeah that's right, still it's bad we meet this way."Aj nodded and a nurse came
into the room.
"Sorry guys, visiting time is over, our patients need their rest, and you can visit
your friend tomorrow again"she said.
"Yeah, and we'll visit our messed up fan too"Brian joked. They all gave Nick a
hug and me a kiss on the cheek as they left.
After
they left Nick turned to me. "How long are you already a fan of us?" he asked.
"From the beginning, even though you had first success in Europe, I supported you
from the beginning" I said.
"Cool, um, can I ask if you, uhm, if you got a fave one?" he asked with his face
turning into a light red. "Yeah, you ! But I must admit you all five have something
special" I answered and I felt that I was blushing, but Nick didn't seem to care, he
just smiled at me.
We both were silent for a while till Nick suddenly said: "You have beautiful eyes,
you know, they have something mysterious". "Thanks, a lot of people say that,
but for me they look just normal. I'm more into blue eyes, like yours, you really got
beautiful eyes" I smiled and I couldn't believe I just said that. I never have talked
to a guy like that, maybe it is cause I feel so comfortable talking to him. In my dreams
though I never could say a word to Nick , weird…
"Hey dreamer, so you got a boyfriend?" he asked and I wondered why he asked and
I know I was turning red. "No, I always have bad luck with boys", I nodded.
"What, I don't believe that. You are beautiful, you are nice, easy to talk to, a
great smile and you don't have a boyfriend??? I think the boys don't know what they are
missing."
Oh my gosh, I just couldn't believe he said that to me, I just felt like to jump up and
hug and kiss him but I could control myself.
"Well, I don't have one, but who knows, he might just come one day. What about you, I
bet you got a girlfriend, with all those girls being crazy about you" I joked.
"No, I haven't. I'm sorry I'm getting sleepy, talk to ya tomorrow ok? Sweet
dreams!", he said and he sounded kinda mad and sad. "Same to you" I
whispered. I wondered if I had said something wrong and I felt bad asking him about the
girlfriend thing. I finally meet someone I really like and it seems like he likes me and I
mess up again. Will this bad luck never end I asked to myself and after a while I fell
asleep.
In the middle of the night I woke up and I heard Nick screaming. He sounded pretty scared
and I went over to his bed. "NO, Lucy don't leave me, don't die, I love you", he
screamed.
"Nick, wake up boy, come on Nick, you have a bad dream, wake up" I whispered. He
woke up and as soon as he saw me, he just grabbed me and held me ! I was so surprised I
drew myself back.
"No, please , hold me" he said, I hugged him and held him till he was sleeping
again. I gently laid him down and I returned to me bed.
The next morning Anna and Theresa came into the room and they were very excited about
something, so they didn't even notice Nick was laying in the bed besides me.
"Awwww Patricia, we just saw Brian and Aj" Anna shouted and I started to laugh.
"Shhh", I said and I pointed at Nick, both of their mouths fell open. "He's
your special roommate" Anna whispered.
"Yeah , I am her special roommate" Nick yawned. We both started to laugh while
Anna and Theresa were still recovering of their big surprise. "Good morning, Nick,
meet my friends Anna and Theresa, both bsb fans, Anna is a Brian fan and Theresa loves
AJ." I said. "Hi Nick", they said together. "Hi , nice meeting you, by
the way Brian and AJ will be here any minute", he replied.
And like he was finished saying that Brian and AJ walked in the room.
"Hey, Nick , we just saw two beautiful gir….."AJ said as he stared at Anna
and Theresa. "And they are right here in this room" Brian laughed. "Nice
meeting you again" AJ said and he gave Theresa a hand kiss.
"Hey where are Kevin and Howie" Nick asked. "Oh they are picking up Rae and
Bronwyn" Brian answered. Nick told us that Howie and Kevin had girlfriends and that
they were really nice. Well we'll see them if they come visiting Nick.
We all got into a conversation, Anna and Brian were laughing all the time cause Brian told
her jokes. Aj and Theresa seemed to like eachother and they just had eye for eachother.
I went over to Nicks bed and sat down besides him. "Hey are you ok?" I asked
him. "Yeah, look, I'm really sorry that I sounded mad yesterday and I wanted to thank
you for last night, I really appreciate it" he said and he hugged me. "Hey, no
problem", I smiled as I gave him a kiss on the cheek.
That moment my mom , Kevin, Howie, Rae and Bronwyn came into the room and it got pretty
crowded.
"Wow, well you couldn't go to the Backstreet Boys concert, so they come to you ,
huh", my mom said. They all started to laugh ! "Well sweetie I can't stay long,
your brother has a football practice and here is your chocolate." my mom said. She
kissed me bye and left the room.
"Hey Patricia, how are you doing?" Kevin asked. "I'm doing great", I
smiled.
"By the way this is Bronwyn and this is Rae." Howie said.
We all started to talk again and indeed Rae and Bronwyn were very nice girls and they were
just perfect for Kevin and Howie. Bronwyn was 23, had black hair with gold highlights and
her eyes were greenish gold, she was Howies girlfriend. Kevins girlfriend Rae had hazel
green eyes with a ring of blue around them. She had black hair with red highlights.
Suddenly a doctor came into the room and told Nick and me that we both could leave the
hospital this afternoon. "Great" we both yelled.
"Well since you two can leave the hospital what do you think about a little
beachparty for welcoming you back, with just the ten of us" AJ asked and he looked at
Theresa "I hope you will come" and he looked very deep in her eyes.
"Sure", she said.
"So what do you think guys" Brian said and looked at me and Nick. "Well I
don't know" Nick said, "I'm still tired and everything." "Oh come on
Nick, Patricia will be there too, so you gotta come" Brian said as he smiled at me.
"Ok, I will be there" I said and Nick also said yes after a while.
"Ok guys see ya tomorrow on the beach, we'll pick you up" AJ said and they all
left the room.
I called my mom to tell her that I could come home and there she was an half hour later to
pick me up. "Bye Nick, see ya tomorrow, ok", I said and gave Nick a kiss on his
cheek. "Yeah bye, tomorrow, I'll be there." He smiled and gave me a hug.
When we came outside of the hospital a bunch of journalists came running towards me
"Hey how was it sharing a room with Backstreet Boy Nick Carter? Is it true he has bad
dreams at night?", they all asked.
"That's none of your business" my mom said and I just kept my mouth shut. They
kept following us till we got in the car. Geez those journalists just want to know
everything I thought.
But I started to think about tomorrow , the beachparty…..and somehow I just kept
thinking of Nick.
I felt a warm glow
on my cheek when I woke up. It was the sun that shone trough my window and was telling me
that I should get up. I looked at my clock and it was 9am so it was really time to get up
and get dressed.
I got in the bathroom and took a shower and then I went downstairs where mom was making
breakfast for me. "Morning, mom", I said. "Morning sweetie, here I got
something for ya" she smiled and gave me a box. I opened it and there was a beautiful
babyblue and purple summer dress in it. The colors were kinda melting together and I just
loved it.
"Thanks mom, I love it! But what is the occasion? " I asked. "Well since
you couldn't go to the concert and since you go on a date with a Backstreet Boy I thought
you could use a new dress" she said. "Mom, it's only a party not a date" I
nodded "but thanks, you're the best". I gave her a kiss and ate my breakfast. I
heard the phone ring and my little brother was picking it up. "Pattyyyyy, it's for
you, a guy called Aj or something" he yelled and I wondered what Aj wanted.
"Hello" I said. "Hi, it's Aj, I hope I don't disturb you" he asked.
"No, you aren't, so what's up, why are ya calling?" I said. "Well we all
were wondering if you and Theresa and Anna would stay to sleep over after the beachparty?
We wanna watch some scary movies after it. Would that be ok??" he asked. "Sure,
I'll call Anna and Theresa and we will see you then this afternoon" I said. "Ok
the limo will pick you up at 1pm this afternoon and then we are gonna have some big fun
!!! Oh by the way can I ask you something?", he mumbled.
"Sure go ahead" I mumbled back. "Well I just want to know if you would know
if Theresa likes me and if she would go on a date with me? "he asked and I heard he
was shy. "Well, yeah she likes you and I know she would love to go on a date with
you" I smiled. "Thanks" he said and he hung up.
I couldn't wait till it was this afternoon and I called Anna and Theresa to tell them
about the sleepover and they both were really excited about it. Theresa almost fainted
when I told her that Aj wanted to ask her out cause that was always something she had
dreamed of.
The minute it was one PM a limo drove on our driveway and a nice chauffeur was letting us
in the limo. "So are you girls ready for a day of fun?" he smiled. "We sure
are" we yelled all three together. About a 15 min later the limo stopped at a large
beach house and we saw Bronwyn and Rae coming out of it.
"Hey girls" they shouted. "Come on in, the boys are at the store getting
food and something to drink" Rae smiled. "Yeah and getting some roses for their
beautiful ladies" Bronwyn added.
We all laughed and got inside where Rae and Bronwyn showed us the house. It was a huge
house and it was stylish decorated. They showed us our rooms and then we all went to fresh
us up.
I put on my bikini and then my new dress over it. I put up my hair and I was ready for a
day of fun. When I came down and I heard a car driving on the driveway. Bronwyn came to
open the door and she smiled when she saw me. "Hey you look great, Nick will be
amazed when he sees you" she smiled. "Thanks, hmm I guess Howie is always amazed
when I sees you ,cause every time I see you two , he treats you like a queen." I
smiled. "Well yeah, he is such a cutie, I love him and I would do anything for
him" she said and she was blushing.
We opened the door and welcomed the boys in. Theresa and Anna were standing now besides me
and the boys came over and gave us all a hug. Brian grabbed Anna her arm and said
"Come on, you gotta see my room and I got something for ya!!!" Aj was a real
gentleman, he bowed for Theresa , gave her a handkiss and handed over a red rose.
"For a beautiful lady who stole my heart", he said and Theresa started blushing.
Nick came towards me and handed me also a rose and he gave me a kiss on my cheek.
"You look cute in babyblue" he said and I felt a warm glow rising in me.
"Thanks" I said and then we got to the livingroom.
~~ In Brians Room ~~
"You got a nice room" Anna said and she could feel the blush rising in
her face. "Thanks, here that's for you" Brian said and he handed her a rose and
a box in the shape of a heart. "Anna, I really really like you and I wondered if you
want to be my girl?" he whispered in her ear. "Yes" she said and then they
both kissed for the first time. Anna felt the butterflies fly in her when she felt Brians
tongue touching hers and she could just melt for the way he kissed.
~~ The livingroom ~~
"So are you all ready for the beach?" Kevin asked. "Yep we
are" we said in a choir "Well Brian and Anna are still upstairs" Nick
nodded. "Well they come later on, they know where we are" Howie said and he took
Bronwyn in his arms. "Well then lets go have fun" Theresa said and we left for
the beach.
We had just so much fun on the beach and I wished the day would never go over. They all
went for a swim and Nick and I stayed at the beach cause we couldn't go in the water with
our hands that just had the surgery. Nick rubbed in my back and neck with sunburn lotion
and I did the same for him. We chatted and laughed the whole afternoon and we found out
that we like the same things, the same music and the same places. The only thing we
avoided talking about was the girlfriends and boyfriends thing.
When the others returned from their swim, Aj finally asked Theresa out and of course she
wanted to go on a date with her dreamboy. They both went for a walk then and a while later
we could see them kissing. Then Aj just lifted her up and spun her around, well you could
see that those two are in love we all laughed. It was already late in the afternoon and we
got ready to return and I really didn't want to, I just wanted to stay and talk to Nick
like we did the whole afternoon…
It was like Nick could read my mind. "I wanna take a walk on the beach" he said
to Brian. "I wanna see the sunset! Will you join me?" Nick asked me.
"I'd love to, I didn't want to leave the beach either" I nodded with a huge
smile on my face.
"Ok , have fun you two! See ya later and don't be naughty" Brian joked. Nick and
I started to laugh and watched them leaving.
"You think Nick is finally over Lucy? I mean I haven't seen him that interested in a
girl since the accident" Rae said to Kevin and Brian.
"Well I hope so, Patricia seems such a nice girl and just the girl he needs."
Kevin responded. "I hope he takes this chance and doesn't freeze in his feelings
again" Brian added.
"Who is Lucy?" Anna and Theresa asked Bronwyn and Howie. "Uhm well, she was
a really good friend of us and Nicks girlfriend till a terrible accident tore her out of
this world" Bronwyn told sad.
"Oh we're sorry" Anna said. "Don't be, it's not your fault and Lucy is in
our hearts and memories. But seems like Nick doesn't get over her death. He made a promise
to her never to fall in love again. We all hope that he breaks the vow and goes on with
his life and hopefully with a new girl he can love. Since he knows Patricia he smiles more
and he seems happy. So lets cross our fingers and hope that things work out between those
two."
Howie said and Bronwyn wiped a tear from her eye. Howie took her in his arms and comforted
her.Then Brian and Aj came along and took Anna and Theresa in their arms. Kevin and Rae
were joking around and Rae sat on Kevs back and he walked home carrying her.
~~ On the Beach ~~
"Thanks for taking me with you. I just didn't feel like going back already" I
said to Nick, he smiled.
"No problem, I just didn't feel like going alone, so I thought I ask a beautiful lady
to join me" he said and I blushed. I just couldn't keep my eyes of, of him. He got a
light brown shade on his skin of lying in the sun this afternoon. His eyes twinkled like
stars and they were so deep blue like the ocean. He just looked so fine. Suddenly I felt
nervous around him and I had a strange feeling inside.
"No this can't be, this just can't be, or can it?" I thought. It sure can be, I
was falling in love with Nick and there was nothing I could do about it. Every time I was
around him, I had this feeling and it felt great. But there was this little voice in my
head saying that I couldn't mess up with
this guy, like I messed up with all the other guys.
"No I just can't mess up, he is the One" I said to myself.
"Hey dreamer, the sun is going down. Let's sit down in the sand to watch it"
Nick said. I nodded and we sat down. "Brrr, I'm getting cold" I shivered.
"You can have my sweater, but I got a better idea" Nick grinned and he came
sitting behind me, putting his arms around me. I felt a warm feeling inside and I didn't
have cold anymore. While we were watching the sun going down, I started dreaming. A dream
about how tight he was holding me. I could feel his warm breath in my neck. He whispered
sweet words in my ear and he caressed my hair telling me how soft it was and how good it
smelled. I felt his lips in my neck and his strong arms holding me tighter like he would
never let me go. I turned my face and closed my eyes. He pressed his soft lips on mine and
then he opened his mouth and put his tongue in my mouth. We were teasing each other with
our
tongues and this kiss was getting very passionate.
Nick smiled when he saw Patricia sleeping on his shoulder. She just fitted perfectly in
his arms. He was wondering what she was dreaming about cause she had that mysterious smile
on her face. He really started to like her and that scared him. He hoped that he could let
go of Lucy and start a new life. A new life with this girl by his side. He wanted to sit
here all night with her sleeping in his arms but he realized that they had to go back. He
kissed her forehead and hated it to wake her up.
"Patricia, hey sleepy head wake up, it's time to go" Nick whispered in my ear.
His warm breath tickled my ear and I started to laugh.
"Ok lets hit the road" I said and stood up, and I slipped. Nick could just catch
me in time and there we were holding each other and ready to kiss. I closed my eyes and
was happy about what was going to happen, the kiss I was dreaming about. Just as Nick's
lips wanted to touch hers he saw the accident and Lucy again.
"Sorry I can't, I just can't !!" he yelled and he got tears in his eyes. He
started to run, leaving me at the beach alone.
"What, what have I done wrong now" I swallowed trying to hide my sadness, my
tears. I just thought that Nick and I seemed oceans apart, there were tears in my heart
and my dreams were torn in two. I couldn't help it and the tears fell of my eyes.
I
sat down in the sand. I looked up at the stars and I was just thinking about nothing.
No nothing was not the word, I had 1001 questions. Didn’t Nick like me? Or does he
just want to be friends? If so, why didn’t he tell me so? Why did he run away and why
was he crying? All unanswered questions. A tear fell down from my eyes and I felt empty. I
thought about the day that I heard the song We’ve got it going on, on the radio, the
first single BsB released. I loved that song so much I went to the music store to buy the
single and that’s when I first saw Nick on a picture. He fascinated me and I fell for
his smile and his shining blue eyes. Those eyes had something mysterious and whenever you
saw Nick on TV or on pictures, his eyes were like stars. They were shining like the sun
and he seemed so happy. That was till last year. The magic had suddenly disappeared out of
his eyes. Now they were dark and empty, like something terrible had happened. I always
wondered why the magic of his eyes was gone. I thought about the day we met and about the
nightmare he had that night. "Wait" I said to myself, maybe it had something to
do with Lucy, the name he shouted out that night. Well I guess I’ll never know.
I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder and I got scared. I turned around and I saw Brian,
Howie and Bronwyn standing behind me. "Damn, you guys scared the hell out of me"
I said a bit angry. "Sorry" they said in a choir.
"We came here to tell you why Nick ran away from you" Bronwyn said softly.
"He told you?" I asked. "No but we think we know what happened. "You
guys came closer but Nick couldn’t handle it and ran away" Howie said.
"Yeah, but how…." I started to say.
"Let us explain" Brian said sadly. They told me about Lucy, about how she and
her love were Nicks happiness, about her terrible death and about Nick’s sadness
since that day that Lucy left this world.
"But why didn’t he tell me that, instead of leaving me here, looking like a
fool?" I said irretaded.
"You need to be patient, give him time and help him to get over Lucy. He really,
really likes you, he told me, but I think he’s still not ready. Talk to him and help
him." Brian said
"I can be patient, I can help him, I can talk to him, but I can’t wait
forever" I sadly whispered.
"We know" Bronwyn said and they all gave me a hug.
"I’ll go and talk to him" I said.
"I think it’s better to wait till tomorrow, let it rest for a bit, ok"
Howie asked. "Ok, but let’s return before they get worried."
When we returned, Kevin and Rae already went to bed, Aj and Theresa fell asleep on the
coach and Anna was waiting for us. "Hey baby, sorry it took so long" Brian said
as he kissed Anna. "It’s ok, but now I’m gonna hit my bed cause I’m
tired" Anna said, we all gave a group hug and we let AJ and Theresa sleep, they
looked so cute. Then we all went to our beds. As I came upstairs I stopped at Nicks room.
"I won’t give up, I’ll help you. Goodnight" I whispered.
I woke up the other morning and I heard someone in the shower singing. I think it was AJ,
the guys said he likes to sing in the shower. I went to look if the other bathroom was
free and I took a long hot shower. I put on my clothes and went downstairs were all except
for Nick and AJ were sitting at the breakfast table.
"Good morning everyone, where are Nick and AJ?" I asked curious.
"Well I think Nick is still sleeping and AJ is still in the shower" Rae said.
"Yeah I heard him sing" I smiled. They all started to laugh. Then we ate
breakfast and I already felt better since last night. I felt good till Nick came
downstairs, I felt angry and sad about what happened last night and otherwise I felt happy
to see him again. He didn’t say a thing but good morning and somehow he avoided eye
contact with me. Brian gave the others a sign that they should leave the room and he came
saying to me that now it is time to talk to him.
"Uhm, Nick, can we talk?" I asked carefully.
"What is there to talk about? I chickened out and I can’t explain why, so leave
me alone" he said angry.
"They told me everything, they told me about Lucy, Nick" I sighed. His eyes
turned from anger in to sadness.
"They did?" he asked.
"Yeah, Nick I know it’s hard and I know how it is to lose someone, I lost a good
friend some years ago, but I went on with my life and that’s what you should do. I
don’t think Lucy wants you to be unhappy!" I said.
"I don’t want to let go, I love her. There is nothing you can do to make me
change my mind. I don’t want to fall in love again and get hurt again." He said.
"That’s a risk you have to take Nick. Falling in love is like learning how to
ride a bike, sometimes you fall and get hurt, but sometimes you stay on an don’t want
to come of that bike again. If you fall you have to get up again and try again, cause one
day, you’ll stay on that bike and you will have no regrets. Nick I really have strong
feelings for you, so let me help you. I like you a lot, no, I love you Nick" I said.
"I don’t wanna take a risk. I hate to love and I hate to like you, I HATE
YOU!!" he yelled at me.
That was it, it was like he slammed his hand into my face. Tears came in my eyes.
"Love is the color of wisdom, the color of freedom, the color of happiness, the color
to care for someone, to love someone, but hate is a dark hole of loneliness and
sadness." I whispered and I started to cry. I ran away, outside the door, I just
wanted to run and never to stop.
"Are you crazy Nick, we know you don’t hate her. You like her and you don’t
want to admit it, no it scares you, but Nick instead of running away, take the risk to
love her back" Brian angry said to Nick.
"I can’t, I just can’t. I go to Lucy’s grave, I need some time
alone"
"Keep your chin up, Nick" Kevin said and Nick left.
I came back to the house and went to my room and started to write a letter. I went to
Nicks room to look if he was there but he wasn’t. I went downstairs and I saw Brian
leaving.
"Where are you going" I asked him.
" To look for Nick at Lucy’s grave" he answered.
"Oh , could you please give him this letter?" I asked.
"Sure" he said and he left.
Keep your chin up
Nick" he repeated as he sounded the words over in his mind. But it all sounded the
same. The same monotone voice. All the "I'm Sorry’s" and "If I can do
anything for you.." "She is happy" they all blended into one empty voice in
his mind. That always sounded in his mind.
Even when he tossed and turned in the middle of the night those words where there. To
remind him. She was gone. Kneeling down he let his black trench coat touch the ground as
he hesitantly removed the black sunglasses from her face. Knowing he should feel the ache
of the two-inch heels that supported her all he could feel was the numbing pain.
Staring at her name imprinted on the cold slab of stone Nick let the tears trickle down.
One by one. Memory by memory. Running his smooth finger over the jaded name he traced the
outline of the letters that was the only thing left of the one beautiful creature that
taught him how to love. Lucy McBright. Letting his blond hair fall around his eyes
blurring the sight, he did nothing to push it away. She didn't need to see it. Her name
would always be scorched in his heart. Like an open wound. That never could heal.
"I want to curse you for abandoning me. I want to damn you to hell for thinking I
could be ok without you. I want to hate you for you thinking I can do this without
you" Nick said softly as he let his fingers trail over the cool dirt that was moist
under his touch. "You promised you'd leave me never. But it looks like your gone
forever." he choked out as the tears rolled down her cheekbones a little faster.
"Nick?" a hesitant voice said. Startled Nick shot up as he turned around to see
Brian standing on the walkway. His own eyes dark and shadowed.
"Bri..." he said quietly as he casted his deepblue eyes to the ground. Gripping
the pink rose he held in his hand tightly he felt a thorn prick his fingers.
Approaching him slowly he studied his haunted expression "Nick.... She wouldn't want
to know this happened to you" Brian said quietly as he stopped in front of him as he
noticed the blood that dripped from his finger and the thorn that had inserted itself in
the wound. But he said nothing. And he would imagine the pain of the thorn was not phasing
him.
"She didn't want to die either' Nick replied as he himself gazed down at the thorn.
He could feel it rubbing against the tender muscles in his ring finger but pain it no
mind. It wasn't something he hadn't already been feeling.
"Nick.... Bad things happen. Unexplainable things. Sometimes they are big. Sometimes
they are small. But it happens. And there isn't much we can ever do to avoid it. But it's
what we do afterwards that makes us stronger. And that will show your testimony of love to
Lucy. She doesn't want your testimony of love to be something painful. She wants it to be
beautiful. Like you are" Brian said softly as the cool wind began a strange dance
around them.
Tickling Nick's cheek then running itself through Brian’s hair.
"She left me Brian. I am not sure if I can forgive her for that" Nick whimpered
as the tears fell down his cheeks like raindrops from the sky.
Pulling him into a hug Brian held him as he cried and cursed. His full lips muttering
words he didn't think he ever knew. His small hands clutching his jacket as he
whimpered into his chest. The pain of letting go.
"Say goodbye Nick. Let her go. And set yourself free, begin a new life and let a new
love come into your heart, a new love called Patricia" Turning from him, Brian gave
him a letter and walked away. Squeezing his eyes shut for a moment Nick took a deep
breath. Turning back to the gravesite he hesitated for a moment as he finally dropped the
rose from his hand and onto the dirt as his finger bled freely now.
"I know you're leaving..." he began his voice barely audible above the roar of
the wind that now possessed his hair sending it into an alluring dance as the gray skies
darkened the light but his startling eyes shone like beacons in the dark.
"I'll never understand--But before you leave--Lucy--I have one thing left to ask you.
Lie to me. Tell me you won't go, tell me you’re always be in my heart and memory,
tell me that I can love someone new, tell me to be happy" Nick whispered.
Exhaling as if he had been holding his breath for the last few hours Nick felt the first
waves of numbness subside as the pain was still there and fresh. But maybe not as potent.
Gazing down at the bleeding finger Nick lifted it to his lips and kissed it gently as the
bleeding slowly stopped till there was nothing but a bright red drop on his slender finger
tip. Turning away from the grave Nick held his head up as the wind nipped his face turning
his cheeks red.
Digging his hands deep in his pockets he almost heard her faint lie in the wind as it
whispered
"I'm not leaving" Nick turned around looking at the grave as he saw a shining
white light. Suddenly Nick saw Lucy, in a long white dress and with wings on her
shoulders.
"Lucy??" Nick whispered.
"Yes Nick, it’s me! Now you have to listen to me very carefully. What Brian said
is totally true! My time had come when that accident happened and you have to let me go. I
know you love me and that you always will! But now there is someone new in your life,
someone that loves you as much as I do. Nick I want you to be happy. I know I’ll
always be in your heart and memory" Lucy said.
"Thanks Lucy" Nick said with tears falling down from his eyes.
"See you again, when your time has come and remember I’ll be your guardian
angel" Lucy said as she lifted her wings and went back up to heaven. Now Nick opened
the letter Brian gave him and he saw it came from Patricia.

I’m sorry for everything that happened the last days. I know it’s hard to let
someone go and I’m sorry I tried to push you, I didn’t mean to, but you also
hurted my feelings, you said things that tore my heart in two.

Nick, I know you know this song, but this songs shows exactly how I feel. If you knew that
I knew I love you! I really do, from the day we met at the hospital I fell deeply in love

but they hurted me. I will leave town for a couple of months, I can stay at my aunts in
Belgium to help her with her children. I hope we still can be friends when I return. I

Now he knew what he had to do and he had to do it fast or he would lose Patricia and he
didn’t want to lose another girl he loved.
After I wrote the letter to Nick, I thought it was time to tell the rest of the group what
I was going to do. I thought about it very good and I
just needed some time, away from here, away from everything. I went downstairs into the
living room. Theresa and Aj were lying on the couch
watching TV, Bronwyn, Howie, Rae, Kevin and Anna were playing some monopoly. It seemed
that Bronwyn and Howie just seem to pay attention to
each other then to the game. I noticed Nick and Brian still weren't returned but I
had no time to wait.
"Hey guys, can I talk to you all for a minute, please?" I asked. Someone knocked
on the door, it was Brian.
"Just in time, I need to talk to you all," I said to him.
"Ok, what's on your mind, Patricia?" Rae asked.
"Well, I have given this a lot of thought and I decided to go to my aunts in Belgium
for a while. I need some time away from here, some time
alone." I said but I still wasn't quite sure about myself.
"Is it because of what Nick said to you, I mean I'm sure he didn't mean that."
Brian said.
"I know but, uhm I mean I want more then Nick can give me and I don't want to risk
the friendship between Nick and me if I don't accept that.. And the only way to accept it,
is if I don't see him for a while. I just have to trust my heart on this one." I said
but I knew I lied, my heart said fight for it, don't let him get away, but I just can't
risk it to hear those hard words he said again or risk to lose his friendship.
"If you would trust your heart and follow it, you wouldn't go away" Aj whispered
but it was loud enough for everyone to hear.
"But we all support your decision, you have to do what you think is best for
you."
"Thanks you guys, I really appreciate that" I said and I gave them all a hug.
"Well I'm leaving in two hours, my mom is packing my stuff, so I better get home
now"
"We'll bring you home" Kevin said and he took Rae in his arms and gave her a
kiss.
They took me home and they wished me good luck. I thanked them and promised to call and
write them.
"Hey greet our Belgian fans over there" Kevin said and he started the car to
leave again.
"Ok" I yelled.
My mom was already waiting for me, she hugged me.
"Are ok sweetie?" she asked.
"Yeah mom, I just need some time" I answered.
"Ok let's leave, before you miss your flight" she smiled.
On the way to the airport I remembered the words Aj said about following my heart. I knew
he was right and I asked my mom if I was doing the right
thing.
"I can't say if it's right or wrong, sweetie, it's up to you and your heart. If you
feel that it's right then you should go, if it doesn't feel right then you should stay and
work things out with Nick." she said serious. The radio suddenly played The One.
After the song was over I smiled, I just had made up my mind and I decided to trust my
heart. I knew what I had to do now.
~~ The Boys House ~~
Nick came running into the house. "Where is she, did she already leave?" he
asked.
"Who?" Brian asked him.
"Well who do you think, Santa Claus? Patricia of course" Nick said.
"Hey calm down, Frack! Her plane goes in one hour, but hey how do you know she's
leaving?" Theresa asked him.
"She wrote me that in a letter Brian gave me when I was at Lucy's grave" he
said.
"Come on, were are you guys waiting for, we gotta catch her before she leaves"
Nick yelled as he ran back out of the house.
"Well he finally figured out what he should do and now it's almost to late"
Brian mumbled.
They all left to the airport and all hoped they would get there in time.
When they arrived there they saw an ambulance there but they didn't paid attention to it,
they had other things to do now. They split up so it would be easier to find her. After 10
minutes Nick found the place where they did have to check in for the flight to Belgium.
"Excuse me, miss, did the plane already leave?"
"Yes sir it already left ten minutes ago" the woman said to Nick.
"Shit, uhm thanks" he said and he returned to the others. They immediately saw
they came to late and hugged Nick and said that he should wait for her, that the time will
pass by in no time.
"I hope so" he said.
They left the building and ran into Patricia's mom, she was crying.
"Hey Misses De Leersnijder, did something happen?" Anna asked her.
"Uhm, yes, Patricia had an accident and is on her way to the hospital. It doesn't
look good" she said, crying louder.
Nicks face turned white.
Nick started to yell. "No, not again, why?" Everyone saw the tears in his eyes
and they all gave him a hug. Misses De Leersnijder went to him and gave him also a warm
hug.
"Nick you have to promise me that you will believe that she will be ok? Please,
promise that. I believe in it and so are all the others here, so please
be strong, believe in her and pray for her. She will be ok," she said as strong as
she could.
"I promise" Nick silently said.
They all drove to the hospital and a hard time of waiting started. Anna and Theresa told
stories about their friend, about her life, about her bad luck
with boys, about how she always made them laugh, about her strong personality and about
losing her friend Steven.
"The friend that she lost was a guy" Nick asked in disbelief.
"Yes Nick, in fact he was her boyfriend. She went through the same as you , but she
didn't let her down and started a new life. And she was so much happier when she started
dating again, she understood that Steven didn't want her to be unhappy. She knew you had a
hard time cause she knew exactly how you feel. She was very hurt when you told her you
hated her. Maybe this all didn't happen if you would have taken her help and her
love." Anna said and she and Theresa started to cry. Aj and Brian took them in their
arms and comforted them.
"Wow, I didn't know that, but you need to know that after I went to Lucy's grave, I
decided to start all over again with Patricia. I know I messed up
and I would do everything to turn back time" he said and a tear fell down from his
eyes.
"Your regrets come too late" Theresa mumbled.
"I know" Nick sighed.
~~ Somewhere else ~~
I just saw a white room, I knew where I was but I didn't want to believe it.
"Well this is it" I said, "I'm in heaven".
"No you aren't, your time hasn't come yet" a friendly voice said.
"Uhm, who are you" I asked and I saw a girl in a long white dress, with wings on
her shoulders and she was so beautiful.
"I'm your guardian angel and my name is Lucy" she said.
"Lucy, you mean like Lucy, Nicks girlfriend" I asked in disbelief.
"Yes, I was his girlfriend but my time had come when the accident happened, but yours
isn't. I know you love Nick and I also know that he loves you. He has trouble showing it
but he will. Take good care of him and remember that I am here to watch over you
both" she said and she disappeared then everything I saw was black and I fell in a
deep sleep.
~~ The waiting room ~~
A doctor came into the room and he had a weird expression on his face so they all prepared
for the worst. As he sat down beside Patricia's mom, he
gave her a smile and told her that everything will be ok. Patricia really had luck in bad
luck, she only has a few broken ribs and some scratches.
They all cheered and asked the doctor if they could see her.
"Yes, but you need to go two by two, she still needs a lot of rest and don't stay too
long" he answered.
"Thank you so much doctor" Nick said to him, the doctor smiled and said he was
welcome.
~~ Hospital room ~~
When I woke up, everything hurted, I saw lots of wires hanging around me, and an annoying
machine kept beeping. Then I realized that I was in the
hospital. Brian and Anna came into my room.
"Hey girl, don't ever scare us like that again. We thought we never would see you
again" Anna whispered.
"Hey I'm not dead as you see and yeah it's nice to see you too" I said. They
started to laugh. They stayed a few more minutes and after they left Howie and Bronwyn,
then Aj and Theresa and then Kevin, Rae and my mom came to say hi and everytime it was the
same ritual. I never should scare them like that again, etc.
After that Kevin, Rae and my mom left, I was wondering if Nick knew what happened, and if
he knew if he would come and visit me. I just wanted to
tell him that I was sorry and that I shouldn't have pushed him like that. I heard a silent
knock on the door and someone came in. It was Nick.
"Hi" he whispered and I nodded my head.
"Patricia"
" Nick" we both said at the same time.
"Go ahead, you go first," I said to Nick and he gave me a little smile.
"I want to say that I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean to say those hard words, I
just overreacted and I had no right to do that" he said in one
breath.
"The thing is that I fell in love with you and I just didn't want admit it, I just
didn't want to get hurt again, but I was wrong and you were right. Patricia, please
forgive me and give me a second chance."
"It's ok Nick, I'm sorry too" and I smiled.
"No you don't have to be sorry, you did what you thought was right, and that was the
thing I exactly needed but I didn't realize it till a few hours ago. I went to look for
you at the airport where we ran into your mother and she told us about your accident, I
thought that it's just going to hunt me and I would never see you again and and..
"Nick, now shut up and kiss me" I smiled
Nick smiled back and bend over me, he gave me a soft kiss on the lips, it was not
the kiss I dreamed of but it was a beginning, and the kiss was very
sweet. After the kiss we just sat there smiling at eachother till we bothfelt asleep.
When I woke up the next morning, Nick was still sleeping in the chair besides my bed. I
loved watching him when he was sleeping, he looked so cute and peaceful. After a while he
opened his eyes.
“Morning sweetie” he said and he yawned. I just smiled at him.
“Did you sleep good” he asked me.
“Yeah, I just slept through the night without waking up and I dreamt wonderful.”
I answered.
“Oh really, what did ya dream” he asked.
“About you and me, on the beach, with the sun going down and red roses all around us.
Dolphins swimming in the water and the wind going
through our hair. It just was wonderful.” I said dreaming.
“You like dolphins?” he said.
“Yeah I love them, they are my fave animals” I said and a doctor came into the
room.
“Young lady, you were very lucky. We still want you here one day for observation and
tomorrow morning you can
go home” he said.
“Thanks doctor” I smiled and he left.
“Well I gotta go, I need to fresh up and I still have some things to do. But
I’ll visit you this afternoon and I’m sure the others will come too, ok?”
Nick said.
“Sure, I’m still gonna sleep a little, I’m still a little tired.
That day went over so slowly, I thought it would never end. Nick and the others visited
me, like he promised. Rae and Kevin had some great news to share with us.
“Kevin asked me to marry him” Rae said excited “And I said yes”.
“Hey that’s great, congratulations you two” I said.
“Thanks, and we have a favor to ask you Patricia. Will you be my maid of honor”
Rae asked as she looked hopeful in my direction.
“Yeah I’d love to” I answered and she gave me a hug.
“Well, so far for big news number one” Howie suddenly said. The others looked
surprised in Howies direction and wondered what he was talking about. He took Bronwyn in
his arms, kissed her gently on the cheek and asked her if she’s ready to tell their
big news. She nodded and smiled. “Well a few weeks ago, well after we celebrated our
two year anniversary, we were naughty and there we had a little accident. An accident
where we are very happy about” Howie said.
“Hey now tell us the big news, you are making us curious” Theresa said
impatiently.
“I’m pregnant” Bronwyn said, well she almost shouted it out.
“ Aaaaahh” we all shouted.
“That’s wonderful news” Brian said and we all gave them a hug.
“Well if that isn’t a good day today. A wedding, a baby. Something else?” I
said.
“Yeah, you got yourself a boyfriend” Anna grinned. Nick and I looked at each
other and we just smiled. Nick had back that magic in his eyes and I won a new love.
Hopefully one that lasts forever.
“Well we all have to go now, I’ll pick you up in the morning ok?” Nick
said.
“Yeah and thanks guys for a wonderful afternoon. See ya all tomorrow I hope.” I
said.
“Sure we wouldn’t want to miss tomorrow” they all grinned and I wondered
where they all were talking about. They all gave me a hug and left.
The next morning I got ready to leave the hospital as Brian and Kevin came in.
“Hey guys, where’s Nick” I asked them.
“Well we can’t tell you that, it’s a surprise. He asked us to pick you
up” Kevin said.
“Oh” was all I could say.
I still had to sign some papers and then we left. The boys covered my eyes so I
couldn’t see where they were taking me and I started to get very curious.
”What did Nick plan” I asked and hoped they would give me an answer.
“Sorry we can’t tell you” Brian said. The car stopped and they helped out
of the car. They took of the bandage around my eyes and gave me a note. “Good
luck” they both said. I opened the note and read it.

I hope the boys took good care of you and brought you safely to this place. Now do me a
favor and follow the path

I looked over and I saw red roses lying there, leading behind the boys house. I
followed the roses and the path
stopped behind the house at a table with candles. On the table there was another note.

I clapped twice in my hands and I heard some soft music playing in the background. I
carried on to read the
note.

I closed my eyes and after one minute I heard someone coming. I knew it was Nick but I
kept my eyes closed.
He came behind me and he whispered in my ear.
“Thanks for coming, now open your eyes.” I did what he said and saw a blue
little box lying in front of me.
“Open it” he said. I took the box and looked inside it, there was a ring in it,
it had a little dolphin on it and a little crystal was shining in the sunlight. “Oh I
love it Nick, thanks you so much.” I said.
“It’s a love ring, to show how much I love you and to say again that I’m
sorry for all what I have done to you. Looking back at a broken heart, it’s not my
style, but your love saved me. Looking back at a broken heart, can make you blind but your
love saved me. Will you be my girl?” Nick said softly and he looked deep into my
eyes.
“I love you too and I want to be with you forever. Thank you for letting me in your
heart.” I whispered. Nick gave me a kiss, it was the kiss I dreamed of. I felt so
happy and I didn’t want this day to end.
It’s
been now a little more then five years after that beautiful day when Nick asked me to be
his girl. Today we were celebrating Nicks 24th birthday and me and the rest of the gang
have organized a party for him. Well a lot has happened in those past five years. Bronwyn
and Howie got married a month after they had announced they were having a baby. They
have three kids now. Two boys and the youngest is a girl, named Howard Dwaine Dorough Jr.,
John Alex Dorough and Stacey Judy Dorough. Kevin and Rae had a really beautiful wedding,
it was so romantic and Kevin even especially wrote a song for his wedding. Rae cried when
she heard it. They have two kids and another one is coming. A boy, named Kevin Scott
Richardson Jr. a girl named Shannon Lisa Richardson. Aj and Theresa got married a year
ago, after they had a little accident, a girl named Alexandra Anna Mclean, she’s two
months old now and she’s really cute. Well we all knew Aj had a soft side but now he
has a little girl we all see that side and he’s such a good father. He’s already
saying he wants to have 4 more kids. Brian and Anna got married three years ago and they
just returned from their second honeymoon, they didn’t want to miss the big birthday
party of Nick. They had a second honeymoon cause they loved their first one so much. They
have two kids a girl Janet Lindsay Littrell and a boy Thomas Kevin Littrell. Nick
and I haven’t talked much about getting married, we both agreed to marry when we both
think the time is right. I’m happy, very happy to have Nick.
"So baby, what do ya think of your party?" I asked Nick.
"It’s great, I love it sweetie. Thanks." Little does he know this party
isn’t going to be a party like another party. I still had a big surprise for Nick.
"You’re welcome, come on it’s time to open your presents" I said and I
called the others. Nick opened all of his presents and he was excited about all those
great things he got from his friends. He opened every present except mine, well I
didn’t give it to him yet.
"Uhm, sweetie, don’t I get something from you" Nick grinned and he sounded
like a little kid who couldn’t get enough gifts.
"Well I got something very special for you but before I give it to you, you have to
come with me" I said smiling and grabbed Nick.
"Excuse us everyone, we will be back in a few minutes" I said looking at the
girls smiling. They already knew what surprise I had for Nick.
"So where is my surprise?" Nick said impatiently as we were outside on the
balcony, looking at the sea.
"Here" I said and I handed him a box. He took it and opened it. In the box there
were two little baby bottles, two pieces of baby toys and a little note. "Is this a
joke gift, come on where is my real present" He asked.
"Read the note Carter" I said grinning.
The present you will get is a gift I got from you. You have made me the most
happiest woman on earth. You gave me the greatest gift a women can get. You have to be
patient cause the present I have for you still has to grow nine months…..

"Oh my god, awwwwww, you mean, uhm, you mean you are
pregnant?????" Nick asked me as his eyes started to sparkle. "Are we going to
have a baby??"
"Yes in fact we are going to have two babies" I smiled, happy to hear that Nick
was as excited as me when I heard the news from the doctor a few days ago.
"Oh my god, twins" he yelled as he grabbed me and spun me around.
"Hey Carter be careful with me now" I laughed.
"Oh that’s right." He said and put me down on the ground. "You know
you make me the happiest man on earth. I love you" he whispered in my ear. "I
love you back" I said and we both returned inside. Nick just couldn’t wait to
tell the news to the others.
"I’m going to be a daddy. No wait, I’m going to be a daddy twice" Nick
yelled when he got inside. They all gave us a hug and congratulated us. "Wow, twins,
that sounds so cute" Aj said and he turned to Theresa "Hey baby maybe we could
make some twins of our own tonight" Theresa blushed"
"Mclean don’t get naughty thoughts now and especially not in front of everyone
here" Theresa said and we all started to laugh.
Nick told everyone to be quiet as he came towards me. He kneeled down and he had a rose in
his hands.
" I wasn’t going to ask you till after the party but I just figured that now the
time is right. Patricia Marie De Leersnijder, will you make me even more happier and
become my wife. Will you marry me?" Nick hopefully said.
"Of course I will" I answered as I pulled him up and gave him a kiss. They all
clapped in their hands.
A few hours later when everyone left I saw Nick had something on his mind.
"Nick honey, what you’re thinking about?" I asked.
"I was wondering if when one of the twins is a girl could we name it after
Lucy?" he said kinda afraid of my reaction.
"Of course we can, I already thought about it myself" I said.
"Thanks. I love more and more every day."
"I love you too, Nicky" I said and we both went to sleep.
*** Nine months later ***
"Hey congrats with your two girls" the group said as they entered my
room. "Thanks" Nick and I said. Two nurses came into the room, they each were
carrying our daughters.
"May I present you, my pride, my two girls Lucy Therasa Bronwyn Carter and Judy Anna
Rae Carter.
"Awww they are so cute" they all said in a choir.
"So Carter how does it feel to be a father now?" Aj asked.
"The greatest feeling on earth" Nick glanced.
Nick and I looked at each other, each with one of our daughters in our arms and smiled.
The twins are the ones that made our life complete I thought and I think Nick had the same
thought as he kissed me.
"You are The One" he whispered in my ear…..from that day on The One was our
song.
